Thanks for the sobering sanity in what's become a drunken brawl of 2.0 madness !

    All too true!

I find it helps to get out of the house and socialise with people for whom 'Twitter' is something birds do. Helps get a sense of perspective.

@TigerTom, definitely nice to get out and about. Sometimes it's easy to forget how nice it is to simply stop sit and enjoy folks' company. In a coffee shop, restaurant, or park - it's nice to unplug and just chat about the day with someone new.

I struggle with social media too...and it certainly is a drunken brawl. What's sobering is that with such a diverse mix of people in our cities it can be difficult to find the community that once was. While most of us could probably afford to get out more at least with social media you can connect with a community that has similar interests. Powerful stuff.

Quality could be improved though..."someone has a crush on you" and "my dad is bigger than yours" really suck the brain power. I stick with the forums for the bulk of it...real threads, real people, focused on an issue.
